Cheer Off
Cheer off is our end of the season competition that is
a mandatory event for all cheer teams. A two minute and thirty second routine
is taught at the beginning of the cheer season by a hired choreographer through
our partnership with Cheer Factory and worked on all season long. The routine
is team-based and will include a high-energy cheer and music/dance portion that
is packed with stunts, jumps, tumbling. Teams are judged by a panel of
externally hired cheerleading experts and are scored on difficulty and execution.
Cheer Off is very important to our program as it brings the sport of cheer to
life with competition, athleticism, and physical conditioning throughout the
year in addition to teaching young children about good sportsmanship throughout
the season.
Difficulty of tumbling and stunts required during a
routine are delegated by a universal score sheet that is based on the division
that your cheerleader is in related to their grade and placement during
registration.
Divisional stunting will be taught during CFSA’s Cheer
Clinics to ensure proper training of the coaches and the safety of the
cheerleaders.
Larger divisions may be split into two smaller
divisions which is decided by the Executive Board and may be based on tenure of
returning coaches versus newer coaches. All participants will receive a medal
and trophies will be awarded for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd
place. Additionally, a Grand Champion will be awarded to the team with the
highest points across all divisions and is announced after the score cards are
tallied and emailed to coaches.
The competitive nature of Cheer Off is to foster your
cheerleader to grow and develop to the best version of themselves and they will
learn about the many aspects of Cheerleading as a sport. This includes but is
not limited to sportsmanship, discipline, hard work, teamwork, physical
fitness, mental strength, confidence, self-esteem, leadership, perseverance,
and dedication. Your coach will be fully prepared to ensure that your
cheerleader will show great development by the end of the season at Cheer Off.
