General Information
Volunteers Needed - The baseball committee is in need of volunteers to make the games possible. If interested in helping out please contact - ttmartinez85@gmail.com.
The CFSA Metro League is a 100% volunteer organization. In order for kids and families to get the most out of the program, parents must be prepared to volunteer their time, either as a coach, an assistant, a team mom or just helping out. Every formed team requires a parent or parents to volunteer to coach the team. Anyone interested must complete a coaching application and submit to an online background check. Your age coordinators will work with each league team to find a volunteer to coach. If no one steps up, CFSA has no choice but to refund everyone's money and try again next season.
Metro Division teams are limited to 3 events per week (any combination of games/practice). Coaches are responsible for setting your practice schedule and location. Field time is handled by the field coordinators. Please check the Fields link above for their contact info.
Season expectations
HAVE FUN! Keep in mind this is for the kids. Let them have fun and have fun with them. You will love it!!
Coaches: We always need parents to step up and coach. You will find this one of the most rewarding experiences you can have with your son or daughter. In case you are thinking "I've never coached before", "I'm not qualified" or something like that just remember three things:
1. The best coaches were beginner coaches at one time, too.
2. At this age most of the kids still only care about having fun and enjoying a snack at the end of the game - you do not have to be an expert - you can learn as you go.
3. If no one steps up for a team, the team will be disbanded and none of those kids get to play.
Parents: We also need your support. Please help keep our fields clean. Trash pickup is everyone's responsibility. Please clean up your dugout, stands and playing field after each game.
Coaching Registration
The Coaching Application process has changed; with the upgrade of the website, registration, and scheduling systems the process is now automated. The apply as a coaching candidate you will have to log into your family profile account in the registration system. Next to your name there will be a button "Register as a Coach", click the button and you will registered as a coaching applicant for that specific sport for the upcoming season in which registration is open. If you are selected as a coach, your division commissioner and/or age coordinator will assign you to your team using this system. Additionally, if you are selected as a coach you will be required to go through a background check and at the discretion of each sport may be required to complete select training courses or clinics.
